PLEASE DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST IF YOU DO NOT FALL WITHIN THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AS SET FORTH BELOW.

By entering this Contest, entrants agree to abide by the Official Contest Rules & Regulations (the “Official Rules”). The decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest (defined below) are final. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram or Twitter. By entering the Contest, you understand and agree that you are submitting your Entry and other required information to the Sponsor and not to Instagram or Twitter. Any personal information provided when participating in the Contest will be used for the purposes and administration of the Contest and otherwise in accordance with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The SUN LIFE® Healthy You Challenge Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada (the “Sponsor”). The Contest begins at 12:00:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on Monday April 5th, 2021 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on Sunday May 16th 2021 (the “Contest Period”).

  1. ELIGIBILITY:
    To enter and be eligible to win, an entrant must be a legal resident of Canada who at the time of entry has reached the age of majority or older in the province or territory in which they reside and the entrant must not be, or be domiciled with, a “Contest Party” or an “Immediate Family Member” thereof. “Contest Party” means employee, representative and/or agent of (1) Sponsor, (2) Sponsor's (i) affiliated and related companies and (ii) advertising or promotion agencies and (3) entities involved in the development, production, administration, or fulfillment of the Contest.  In these Official Rules, “Immediate Family Member” means the entrant's mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter or legal or common-law spouse.
  2. HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST: There are two (2) methods of entry to enter the Contest:
    1. Social Media Entry (Instagram or Twitter):

      To enter the Contest via Instagram or Twitter (a” Social Media Entry”), you must have or need to become a registered user of www.Instagram.com (“Instagram”) or www.Twitter.com (“Twitter”) (each a “Social Media Platform”). An Instagram and Twitter account is free. To create an Instagram or Twitter account, you will be required to submit certain personal information, including your name, email address or mobile telephone number, username and a password. By submitting that information and creating an Instagram or Twitter account, you must agree to the Instagram or Twitter Terms of Use and Privacy Notice.  If you do not agree to those Terms of Use and Privacy Notice, you will not be permitted to create an Instagram or Twitter account, or enter the Contest via Social Media.  Once you have an account, your account must be set to “public” to enter the Contest in order for your Entry to be viewable by the Sponsor.  By using Instagram or Twitter through a wireless mobile device, standard text messaging and/or data rates may apply for each message sent or received from your device.  Other charges may also be applied by your wireless carrier.  You will be responsible any such text and data or other charges.   Please consult your wireless plan provider for any costs or details before participating via wireless mobile device.

      During the Contest Period, follow Sun Life Canada (@SunLifeCA) on Instagram or Twitter and upload a photograph (“Photo”) or video (“Video”) of yourself performing one (1) of the individual Contest challenges (“Challenges”) described below along with a caption that contains the following hashtag #SunLifeHealthyYouChallenge and tag @SunLifeCA.   Together with your Photo or Video, this submission constitutes a “Social Media Entry”. The Challenges are as follows:

      Challenges:

      1. Basketball Burpee Challenge (Eligible for the Grand Prize Draw and Secondary Prize Draw #1, 2, 3 and 4 - see Section 4):
        1. Start in a standing position holding onto either basketball, pillow, or other suitable household object, then,
        2. Squat, making secure contact with the ground using the object in your hands connecting you to the floor, then,
        3. Kick your feet back into a plank position, then,
        4. Do a pushup, then,
        5. Return to the squat position, then,
        6. In one fluid motion, return to standing position and vertically jump up with the object in your hands.
        7. Repeat for 30 seconds.
      2.  Eagle Challenge: (Eligible for the Grand Prize Draw and Secondary Prize Draw # 2, 3 and 4 - see Section 4)
        1. Start in a standing position, with bent knees, then,
        2. Cross one leg over the other, then,
        3. Cross the opposite side of the body’s arm over the other and hold hands together, then,
        4. Maintain balance and breath normally, holding the pose for 10 to 60 seconds. 
        5. Switch sides and repeat. 
      3. Basketball Breathing Challenge: (Eligible for the Grand Prize Draw and Secondary Prize Draw #3 and 4 - see Section 4)
        1. Start by laying on your back with a ball, rolled up socks or other suitable, safe household object in your hands, then,
        2. Place and balance the object on your stomach without holding it and close your eyes, then,
        3. Inhale through your nose keeping the ball balanced on your stomach, then,
        4. Exhale slowly.
        5. Repeat for 60 seconds.
      4. Sit-Up Sock Shots: (Eligible for the Grand Prize Draw and Secondary Prize Draw # 4 - see Section 4)
        1. Start with multiple pairs of socks by your side and an empty garbage bin, box, or other suitable household object eight feet away from you, then,
        2. From a sitting position with your knees at a 90’ angle, lay your back flat on the floor into the bottom of a sit up position, then,
        3. Grab a pair of socks next to you, then,
        4. Return to the original sit-up position to complete a sit up,
        5. Then in one motion throw the socks into the garbage bin.
        6. Repeat seeing how many socks can be shot into the bin in 60 seconds.
      5. Social Media Entries must be received on or before 11:59:59 PM ET on Sunday May 16th 2021 (the “Contest Closing Date”). Each Challenge via a Social Media Entry may only be submitted once during the Contest Period.

        Each submitted Photo or Video:

        1. must be submitted on Instagram or Twitter;
        2. must be a Photo or Video of a Challenge outlined above;
        3. must include the hashtag #SunLifeHealthyYouChallenge;
        4. must include the mention @SunLifeCA;
        5. may only be submitted once;
        6. must be intended for family audience viewing and contain only content that, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsor, is suitable and appropriate for persons of any age;
        7. must not contain any nude, sexually explicit, disparaging, discriminatory, libelous, crude, vulgar, offensive language or other inappropriate content of any kind whatsoever as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion;
        8. must not contain any content that promotes any product, service or brand of any other party other than the Sponsor;
        9. must not contain any language suggesting or encouraging illegal activity;
        10. must not contain anything that infringes or that may infringe upon any person’s rights, including intellectual property rights;
        11. must not contain any unauthorized copyrighted works or third-party content that is or may be subject to and protected by intellectual property laws, including but not limited to artwork and photographs;
        12. must contain entirely original materials that have never before been published or used in any other contest;
        13. must not contain any identifiable third-party products and/or trade-marks, brands or logos other than those of the Sponsor; and
        14. must not include any personal information of any third-party, including family or friends or otherwise include any reference to or likeness of identifiable third parties, unless consent has been obtained from all such individuals and such individuals are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older.
    2. Standard Mail-In Entry:

      On a plain piece of paper, hand-print your full name, complete mailing address, daytime telephone number (including area code), a valid email address, the following statement: “I have read, understand and agree to these Official Rules”, an essay describing in no more than 150 words what your physical and mental health goals are for 2021 and how you plan on achieving them and mail with sufficient postage to: SUN LIFE® Healthy You Challenge Contest, Dept 4178, Box 9500 Lakeshore West PO, Oakville ON, L6K 0G4. Each mail-in entry (a “Mail-In Entry”) must be an original (no photocopies or other reproductions) and mailed in a separate envelope, bearing sufficient postage.

      Mail-in Entries must be post marked no later than the Contest Closing Date and must be received prior to the applicable Draw Date (see Rule 4B).

    Maximum of four (4) Entries per person is permitted during the Contest Period, regardless of method of Entry.

    Limitations: There is a limit of one (1) Prize per person during the Contest Period. A person is ineligible to be declared the winner of any further Prize if he or she has either already been selected as a winner of either the Grand Prize or Secondary Prize.

    If it is discovered by the Sponsor (using any evidence or other information made available to or otherwise discovered by the Sponsor) that any person has attempted to: (i) use multiple names, multiple identities, multiple social media accounts and/or any other means not in keeping with the Sponsor’s interpretation of the letter and/or spirit of these Official Rules to enter or otherwise participate in or to disrupt this Contest; then he/she may be disqualified from the Contest in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. The Sponsor is not responsible for, and accepts no liability whatsoever in relation to, any late, lost, misdirected, delayed, illegible, inaccurate or incomplete Entries (all of which are void). Any entry may be rejected, denied and disqualified if, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor the entry is not submitted and received in accordance with these Official Rules.

  3. PRIZES and ODDS: There will be a total of eighteen (18) prizes (each referred to as a “Prize” or collectively as “Prizes”) available to be won consisting of ten (10) grand prizes (the “Grand Prizes” or each a “Grand Prize”) and eight (8) secondary prizes (the “Secondary Prizes” or each a "Secondary Prize") which are as follows:
    1. GRAND PRIZE:

      There will be ten (10) Grand Prizes available to be won. Each Grand Prize consists of:

      1. Toronto Raptors Prize Pack (“Raptors Prize Pack”) in the form of an electronic gift card to the value of $500.00 CAD redeemable at Real Sports Apparel (https://shop.realsports.ca); and
      2. Toronto Raptors player Chris Boucher and Toronto Raptors alumni Jerome ‘JYD’ Williams virtual meet and greet experience (“Raptors Virtual Meet & Greet”). The Raptors Virtual Meet & Greet lasting up to thirty (30) minutes will be held over a video conference platform on a specified date and time at the Sponsor’s discretion. The approximate value of this experience is $500.00 CAD.

      The total approximate value of each Grand Prize is $1,000.00 (CDN). The odds of being selected for a Grand Prize depend on the total number of eligible Social Media Entries received during the Contest Period and Mail-In Entries received prior to the Grand Prize Draw Date.

      The Sponsor shall not be held liable in the event that any potential winners are unable to benefit from the Grand Prize, or any part thereof, because of having failed to either redeem the Raptors Prize Pack or attend the Raptors Virtual Meet & Greet.

      Grand Prize winners will be selected by a random draw as described in rule 4 below.

    2. SECONDARY PRIZES: There are a total of eight (8) Secondary Prizes available to be won during the Contest Period. Each Secondary Prize consists of:
      1. Toronto Raptors Prize Pack (“Raptors Prize Pack”) in the form of an electronic gift card to the value of $500.00 CAD redeemable at Real Sports Apparel (https://shop.realsports.ca)

      The odds of being selected for a Secondary Prize depend on the total number of eligible Social Media Entries received during the Contest Period and Mail-In Entries received prior to the applicable Prize Period Draw Date (see Rule 4B).

      The Sponsor shall not be held liable in the event that any potential winners are unable to benefit from the Secondary Prize, or any part thereof, because of having failed to redeem the Raptors Prize Pack.

      Secondary Prize winners will be selected by a random draw as described in Rule 4B below.

    3. Prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution, and are not (1) transferable, (2) for resale or (3) convertible to cash. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, in the event that a Prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason, to substitute a Prize of equal or greater value without liability.

  4. GRAND PRIZE AND SECONDARY PRIZE DRAW DATES AND WINNER SELECTION PROCESS:
    1. Grand Prize:

      There will be one (1) Grand Prize draw, taking place in Oakville, Ontario located at 2390 Circle, Unit 3, Oakville, ON, L6H 6M5 at approximately 1:00 PM ET on Wednesday May 19th, 2021 (the “Grand Prize Draw Date”).

      On the Grand Prize Draw Date, ten (10) eligible entrants will be selected at random (using a computer algorithm) from among all eligible Social Media Entries and Mail-In Entries received in accordance with these Official Rules.

    2. Secondary Prizes:

      There will be four (4) Secondary Prize draws, corresponding to the Challenges per Rule 2.A., taking place at 2390 Circle, Unit 3, Oakville, ON, L6H 6M5  at approximately 12:00 PM ET on the dates below (the “Secondary Prize Draw Dates”). Note that if an entrant submits an Entry and is not drawn as a winner in the next upcoming Secondary Prize Draw, their entry will roll forward and be eligible to win the following Secondary Prize Draw and/or Grand Prize Draw (whichever falls next).

      Secondary Prize Draw Period #1: Monday, April 5th, 2021 12:00:00 AM ET until Tuesday, April 13th, 2021 11:59:59 PM ET.

      Secondary Prize Draw Date #1: Thursday, April 15th, 2021 12:00 PM ET

      Secondary Prize Draw Period #2: Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 12:00:00 AM ET until Sunday, April 25th 2021, 11:59:59 PM ET.

      Secondary Prize Draw Date #2: Tuesday, April 27th, 2021 12:00 PM ET

      Secondary Prize Draw Period #3: Monday, April 26th 2021, 12:00:00 AM ET until Tues, May 4th 2021 11:59:59 PM ET

      Secondary Prize Draw Date #3: Thursday, May 6th 2021 12:00 PM ET

      Secondary Prize Draw Period #4: Wednesday May 5th 2021 12:00:00 AM ET until Sunday, May 16th 2021 11:59:59 PM ET

      Secondary Prize Draw Date #4: Wednesday, May 19th 2021 12:00 PM ET

      On the Secondary Prize Draw Date, two (2) eligible entrants will be selected at random (using a computer algorithm) from among all eligible Social Media Entries and Mail-In Entries  received in accordance with these Official Rules.

  5. WINNER NOTIFICATION PROCESS:

    Grand Prize and Secondary Prize Winner Notifications:
    Per the Draw Dates outlined in 4.A and 4.B for the Grand Prize and Secondary Prizes, the Sponsor or its designated representative will make three (3) attempts to contact each selected entrant by private message on the Social Media Platform they used to submit their Social Media Entry into the Contest or via email to the email address provided in their Mail-In Entry. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted within three (3) attempts or three (3) business days of the applicable Draw Date (whichever occurs first), or there is a return of any notification as undeliverable, then that selected entrant will be disqualified.  In the event of a disqualification, or in the event that Sponsor otherwise determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, that a selected entrant is ineligible under the terms of these Official Rules, Sponsor reserves the right, but is not required, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible entries.

  6. GRAND PRIZE AND SECONDARY PRIZE DECLARATION:

    To be declared a Grand Prize or Secondary Prize winner, selected potential winners will be required to:

    1. correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid (which may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be administered online, by email or other electronic means, by telephone, or in the Sponsor’s form of declaration and release (the “Release Form”)); and
    2. sign and return, within five (5) business days of receipt from Sponsor, the Sponsor’s Release Form, which (among other things):
      1. confirms compliance with these Official Rules;
      2. acknowledges acceptance of the Grand Prize or Secondary Prize as awarded;
      3. releases the Sponsor, the Contest Parties and their affiliated and related companies, and their respective current and former shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively the “Releasees”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, the potential winner’s participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof; and
      4. agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of the winner’s name, address, voice, statements about the Contest and/or photograph or other likeness without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including but not limited to print, broadcast, social media, or the internet.
      5. confirm entrant’s agreement to post a message or messages to be provided by Sponsor on each of his/her Social Media Platforms, if requested by Sponsor.

      The Grand Prize or Secondary Prize will be coordinated with the winner by the Sponsor or its designated representative by private message on the Social Media Platform they used to submit their Social Media Entry into the Contest or via email to the email address provided in their Mail-In Entry and ultimately sent via email within one (1) to six (6) weeks of receipt and verification of his/her Release Form. In the event of a forfeited Grand Prize or Secondary Prize, Sponsor may select a replacement at its sole and absolute discretion, but is under no obligation to do so randomly or by way of a draw.

  7. GENERAL: By entering the Contest, entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest, which are final. If selected for a Prize, entrants acknowledge that the Prize must be accepted as awarded, without substitution (unless substituted by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). All entries become the permanent property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. Sponsor shall have the right to edit or modify entries for any use in perpetuity. Only potential winners and winners will be contacted. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws.

    In the event of a dispute as to any Social Media Entry, the authorized account holder of the Social Media Platform used for that entry will be deemed to be the entrant and he/she must be eligible according to these Official Rules. All entries received become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged.

  8. TERMS OF ENTRY: By entering this Contest, in consideration for the chance to win a Prize, each entrant authorizes the Sponsor to use, their name, city of residence, voice, statements, photographs, video and (or) other image for advertising purposes, without any remuneration whatsoever, unless prohibited by law.
  9. RELEASE: You release the Releasees (as defined in Rule 6 above) from any liability in connection with a Prize or this Contest. Contest, including but not limited to any and all liability, claims, losses, actions or damages of any kind, whether actual, incidental or consequential, for injury (including but not limited to death), damages, losses or expenses arising out of or relating to an entrant’s participation in this Contest, or the acceptance, possession or use/misuse of any Prize or participation in prize-related activities (including but not limited to activity related thereto).
  10. The Releasees will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete entries or Prize claims and all such entries/Prize claims are void. All entries become the property of the Sponsor upon receipt and none will be returned.

    The Releasees will not be liable for any failure of the Contest, do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry material/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.

    The Releasees shall not be liable to Prize winners or any other person for failure to supply any Prize or any part thereof by reason of any acts of God, any actions, regulations, orders, or requests by any governmental entity, equipment failure, terrorist acts, war, fire, unusually severe weather, embargo, labour dispute or strike, labour or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Releasees.

  11. CONTEST CHANGES: The Sponsor reserves the right, with the consent of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (the “Régie”), to terminate or suspend this Contest or to amend the Official Rules at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, the Sponsor reserves the right, with the consent of the Régie, to cancel the Contest. The Sponsor and the independent contest organization shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest.
  12. FOR QUEBEC RESIDENTS ONLY. Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity Contest in Québec may be submitted to the Régie for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of the Prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
  13. CONSENT TO USE PERSONAL INFORMATION: When you voluntarily choose to participate in the Contest, personal information including, but not limited to your: first name, last name, mailing address, city, province/territory, postal code, telephone, email and social handle (collectively "Registrant Information") will be collected from you by the Sponsor. By entering this Contest and providing this information, you consent and agree to the Sponsors' collection and use of the Registrant Information to administer this Contest and in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy (available at: https://www.sunlife.ca/slf/PSLF+Canada/Privacy?vgnLocale=en_CA&/privacy). Further, if the Photo or Video uploaded by you contains personal information about you or about a child for whom you are the parent, guardian or other authorized legal representative, you consent to the use of the Photo or Video for the purposes described in Rule 9 above. Please note that personal information provided as part of this Contest may be collected in, transferred to and processed and stored in jurisdictions outside of Canada. Such information will be subject to the general laws applicable within those jurisdictions, including, without limitation, possible access by regulatory authorities.
  14. INTERPRETATION: In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the English and French Official Rules, disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including, but not limited to: point of sale, television, print or online advertising; the terms and conditions of the English Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
